Freedom Is Not For Everyone.
The story might upset some readers. I hope it does.
“Today we will watch an educational movie about freedom of speech. First, let me explain the context. We have freedom of speech, but not everything can be said. This might sound counterintuitive, but this is what the Book says. It says we can say anything except anything against it.”
“Professor, this doesn’t make any sense,” a student said. “If we can’t say something against the book — how can we then have free speech?”
The teacher looked at him and pointed his finger. “There you see, he is a perfect example of our freedom of speech. He can say anything, but he can’t doubt the truth explained in our Book. Detention for you after classes.”
The student looked down confused, because no one tried to understand him. You could see this was not the first time he got a punishment, because you could feel the hate in the classroom.
The teacher stared at him for a few moments and then turned back to class: “Students give me a few examples of how beautiful our freedom of speech is.” He looked around the class with his arms wide open.
“We are not allowed to leave our Truth, and no one has the right to tell us about other Lies.” said a boy in the first row. “Excellent! What happens to those who dare to leave and to those who dare to question our freedom?” The boy smiled and looked the professor in the eyes: “They deserve punishment.” “Excellent my dear boy, and we all know what that punishment is, so we won’t discuss it further. Any other examples?”
“Those who are not free, should be forced into freedom.” “Yes! But can you be more specific?” “Of course, professor. Let’s say there is a family who is not one of us. They shouldn’t get a job, they should be mocked and threatened until they accept our ways.” “Indeed, my dear child, but what if they don’t?” “We shall separate their kids and marry them to one of ours and therefore they will be us!” “Perfect.”
The movie started: “There is nothing else, but the Truth and freedom is his messenger. There is nothing better, because our truth is the only truth…” The movie suddenly stopped, because the electricity went out. “Don’t worry my children, we will continue the movie later. Now let’s open the only true Book on where we left off the last time.
“Could you read?” Silence. “HEY! I said read.” The teacher looked at the boy who got detention. “I won’t sir.” “What? Can you explain to me why?” “Because this is not freedom of speech. Freedom means you can say anything. It’s the meaning of the word freedom. Should I be punished for saying something bad about things you believe in?”
The teacher stood up and left the classroom. When he got back the student was lying on the floor motionless in a pool of blood.
“The real followers of the Truth know that their way is the only right way and everyone else is not welcome. Now let’s finish the chapter.”
