Don’t use your PHONE while driving
The National Safety Council reports that cell phone use while driving leads to almost 2 million crashes each year (every 4th car accident). Almost 390,000 injuries happen every year because of texting while driving.
A hot wind was blowing.
There were no dark clouds in the clear blue sky.
“Honey. I think we should go to the beach. The kids would love it.”
“Yeah, sounds amazing! I’ll go tell them”
The kids were thrilled. Their 7-year-old daughter Molly was jumping all around the house trying to find her swimsuit. 12-year-old Thomas was more relaxed, he already had all the things he needed packed and was trying to convince his dad to take the fishing gear. Only after Michael promised they would go fishing next week he gave up on his pursuit.
After the chaotic preparation, everyone was finally sitting in the car. Michael looked back at the kids: “Everyone ready?” “Yeaaaaah!” He glanced at his wife who gave him a warm smile. “Okey, let’s go!”
The family was driving down the road when his phone rang. “Yeah sis’ what’s up?”
“Michael. Something terrible happened. Do you have time to talk?”
“Amm…okay? What is going on?”
“Michael our parents. They are dead.”
Silence.
“Michael?”
“What happened?”
“They had a car accident Michael. They crashed into another car…. they are all dead.”
Michael’s face became pale. His wife and kids sensed something was wrong.
“Daddy?”
Michael’s world stopped for a second. It was enough for him to lose focus. All it took was one second. His wife’s screams and children’s cry didn’t help. They crashed. Together with his parents they were all dead.
A hot wind was blowing over the corpses of six and a hot summer sun was creating grotesque shadows.
